A Skool community for neurodivergent founders is easy to find and hard to judge from the outside. The about page gives you the topic, the price and a member count. It tells you nothing about the Wednesday your brain goes quiet, which is the part that decides whether you are still there in three months.

The community I run at EPIC AI Agency is called Visionary in Progress and it lives on Skool. What follows is the actual week in it, described closely enough that you can decide from the outside.

Four questions worth asking of any community before you pay

Ask them of mine too. The answers are further down.

Is there a live call? A weekly call is the most common thing sold as support and the fastest thing to become a debt. If you cannot reliably be awake, upright and articulate at a fixed hour, a diary full of calls is something you will pay for and quietly stop attending.

What happens on a low day? Some communities have an answer built into the design. Others have a leaderboard, a streak counter and a member who direct messages you to ask where you went. Find out which one you are buying.

Is there a curriculum you can fall behind on? A course inside a community sounds like extra value right up until module three, when the place turns into a room full of people who are ahead of you.

Does anything in there run without the founder? If every thread waits on one person having a good week, it goes silent whenever she does not.

What runs on a schedule, and why that matters

The daily challenges are prompt runs. One prompt a day for as long as the challenge lasts, and every one of them is queued in advance so it publishes itself.

I have not finished one. Ever. Not a challenge I joined, and not a challenge I wrote, and I write them all. The pattern never varies: keen on day one, sincere on day two, gone by day four because something else has arrived in my head and taken the furniture with it.

Christmas in July ran to twenty four parts. Every part landed on the day it was supposed to, while I was somewhere else entirely doing something unrelated.

That is a design decision as much as a confession. Scheduling is what keeps the room's daily rhythm separate from my health, which matters because members and founders in this line of work tend to have the same sort of week. If the prompts waited on me being well, they would go missing in exactly the stretches when somebody needed one.

The rituals, in order

Sunday, the intention post. One thread a week, and members write the single thing they want to have moved by the following Sunday. Not a resolution, not a quarterly target. One movable thing, posted where witnesses are. A plan that has been read behaves differently to a plan that has not, and that difference is most of what the community is.

Between the Sundays, bitesized projects. Work gets broken down until it is genuinely small. Somebody building a course does not carry "the course" around for a month; she carries the one piece of it she could still start on a day with very little in the tank. Anything you cannot begin on a bad day is not a task, it is a wall with a task written on it.

Once a month, Small Business Saturday. Show and tell for things that are finished and public. A shop somebody opened. A page that went live. A product now sitting there on sale. Months of small invisible pieces show up in that thread as one visible object, which is the only occasion the long middle is legible to anybody at all.

Nothing happens live. There is no call in the diary, so there is no hour to protect and nothing to apologise for missing.

What it costs

Membership runs at three prices: $7, $15 or $37 a month. Cancelling is done by you, from your own Skool settings, at any point.

VIP, at $37, adds an app called the Calibration Room. At that level you get a monthly slot to put work up for feedback, and somewhere to advertise anything you already have launched. It suits people with something to sell, because feedback and visibility are worth more to them than company on its own. At $7 you get the Sunday thread, the projects and the monthly Saturday, which is plenty when nothing is on sale yet.

Begin at $7. And if $7 a month needs a long think in your current situation, leave it for now. Nothing in here works better for having been paid for during a tight month.

Who should not join

Wanting a curriculum rules it out. Nothing is taught in order, there is no first module, and by the second week somebody who came for a syllabus would be annoyed. Fairly.

Wanting daily instructions rules it out too. A prompt asks you something; it does not tell you to do anything, and nobody follows up when you ignore it. Being followed up is what drove me out of every group I ever paid to be in, so I left it out deliberately. If a firm hand genuinely works for you, go and buy one properly somewhere else rather than spending $7 here on the wrong shape.

Needing an audience rules it out as well. Nobody joins this for reach. It is small and quiet by design, because the part of the work it covers is the slow part.

Who it is for

More projects started than finished. An energy supply that changes without notice. A history of planning systems bought in good faith and abandoned by February. And a growing suspicion that discipline was never the missing ingredient.
